Financial Planning Internship
Department: Wealth Management

Reports To: Morgan Glenn

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

The financial planning intern will assist Wealth Advisory teams with financial plan preparation, portfolio management database data entry and maintenance, running and aggregating wealth management reports, and general research requested by the team. Additional duties will be assigned as required to meet school curriculum requirements for their internship. Most importantly, receive an introduction to the world of financial planning.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Client Service and administrative support.

• Assist in financial plan analytics.

• Provide support to wealth advisory teams with necessary preparation for client meetings.

• Completion and presentation of Investment research projects.

• Assist advisory teams in the submission of necessary forms to Raymond James in order to open and service client accounts.

• Provide administrative backup support, such as CRM data entry, organization of client documents, and scanning, as required by the planning team.

• Attend firm and team meetings, as required. Presentation of research request may be required.

• Completing other special projects in support of Marketing, Tool Implementation, and Client Meetings.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Should be working towards a Degree from a four-year college or university; it’s a plus if you have a major in finance, financial planning, economics or related degree program.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain relationships.

• Self-motivated with an excellent work ethic.

• Strong communication skills.

• Intellectually curious with a desire to find innovative new approaches to current processes.

• Strong Windows PC skills, including Microsoft Office applications.

• Ability to work with basic mathematical and financial concepts, including fractions, percentages, ratios and time value of money concepts.
