Philosophy on Investment Management
Structuring a balanced portfolio of equities and fixed income, putting in a few alternative investments – this is what most people think investment management is all about. And it is. But that is not enough.
To manage portfolios for my clients, I want to find out what they value. The assets they hold should reflect what they love, and what they want to leave as their legacy for the world. When I started in the investment field 35 years ago, it was hard to research what companies were doing to the planet, to other people, how they ran their businesses, or how they treated their employees. There are now tools to help screen for these important considerations. While these tools are not perfect, they have improved dramatically over the last decade. I have spent my life listening to what is important to clients and incorporating these values in customized portfolios that align with their long-term goals.
